Development of biomedical devices based on clinical experience

  • Since 1980 Dr Bencini continuously worked on improving the quality of life of people who face challenges related to the presence of a colostomy, with constant commitment to research, development and creation of highly performing and personalized devices.
  • Founder and Owner of Medicea Medica srl. Since 2016, an Innovative PMI addressed to the idealization, creation and marketing of Innovative Medical Devices in general, currently focused on obtaining the CE and marketing of StomAid, a non-surgical device for the continence of colostomies.
  • Consultant at CORIDEA in Carotid Body Resection role in reflex regulation of airway smooth muscle tone. Coridea is a premier medical device incubator that carries out clinical research in Europe and the United States.
  • In 2003, Scientific Director of the PEMS-TDMS-RMCD-CRDMS Project for the remote control of thoracic drainage, developed in collaboration with Kayser Italia, a company that develops advanced technologies for advanced space research with the aim of making them available on the ground, for the improvement of human health, the development of industry.
  • From 1987 to 1989 Dr. Bencini held the role of Scientific Director of a CNR/INDUSTRY Research Contract n° 870114111 entitled: "Engineering and development of a new type of pneumatic colostomy prosthesis", which progressed to the industrial pre-production stage . The results have been published in national and international scientific journals.

Clinical experience

  • Accredited by the French Society of Surgery in Laparoscopic and Thoracoscopic Surgery, he attended the best surgical schools in Italy and France.
  • He has served as a General Surgeon, Thoracic Surgeon, Vascular Surgeon, Cardiac Surgeon, and Neurosurgeon in Italy and abroad, particularly in Iraq and Libya.
  • He served as a Volunteer Iraq War Surgeon at Camp Mittica in Nasiriyah, serving the CRI Military Corps during Operation Ancient Babylon. He has been a Consultant Surgeon at the New Hospital of Nalut in Libya from 2003 since 2011.
